As a business owner, you know how important it is to always have networking on your mind. You have built and continue to build your business through family, friends and referral business. Cold calling is never any easy task, as the business or individual you are trying to get through to doesn’t know you from the next guy.
Here are a few suggestions to grow your network of friends, which can eventually lead to increased business and revenue.
-Chamber of commerce: These days you might see something online related in the number 1 spot, but there still is something to be said about face to face networking. It doesn’t matter what business you are in, people spend money with you if they feel comfortable. Consider looking into your local Chamber of Commerce and join hundreds of other local business owners building their network of associates, just like you are.
-Local groups: If you have any interest in sports, join a local team or club. This is always a great way to meet new people that will more often than not be in a completely different industry than you. Take advantage of the time you spend with this group or team getting to know each person. You never know who you will meet.
-Social media: There are handfuls of social media platforms to get involved with, Facebook groups are a good way to keep in touch with individuals you know and share your business knowledge and services with them. Although social media is an effective way to promote your business, do so cautiously, as it still is a “social” atmosphere. Overloading the sales pitch to these people could back fire on you.
